Classes: What lessons do we offer at Summit?
Piano
With five instructors, and various pianos and keyboards to work with, one of the core instruments taught at Summit. Janette, Margaret, Heather, Lynn and Sheila teach a variety of different styles and techniques to enrich the learning of this classic instrument.
Voice
The only instrument that doesn’t require an instrument! Sally, Lynn, and Marg all offer voice lessons at the centre.
Fiddle & Classical Violin
An East-Coast standby, the fiddle music is one of the most popular genres Nova Scotia and the Maritimes. Hayley is a wonderful instructor in both classical violin, and fiddle music.
Guitar & Ukulele
Paul Tupper is our resident guitarist, trained in a number of different styles and genres. Or if you prefer 4 strings to 6, Lynn also offers lessons on the Ukulele.
Musical Theory
Or if you are inclined to learn or learn more about the theoretical side of music, Sheila, Jannette, and Heather all offer teachings in musical theory as well!
Musical Theatre
For those interested in the stage side of music, Sally offers lessons in musical theatre!
Preschool Music Discovery:
For children aged 3-5 we offer our music discovery program, taught collaboratively by Marsha, Jan, and Margaret. This course explores an introduction to music, with students learning about rhythm, different instruments, and movement.
